Description
The dose responses of natural potassium feldspar irradiated by gamma rays were measured without annealing of the powder samples. Two glow peaks are observed at 160 degree C and 248 degree C in the glow curves respectively. The height of the 160 degree C glow peak is dependent on the radiation dose while the peak temperature is not related to the dose. However, the glow peak of 248 degree C is independent of the radiation dose. Using the activation energy of the 160 degree C peak obtained by the initial rise method, the kinetic order of the peak can be determined by fitting the glow curves with the general order kinetics. The results show that the kinetic order of this peak is approximately 2, i.e. the non-first order, and both temperature and shape of the peak keep unchanged while increasing irradiated dose
