White light emission from ZrO2:Eu3+ nanomaterials
- 1. Department of Physics, Manipur University, Imphal (India)
- 2. Chemistry Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)
Description
Nowadays, research on nanoscience and nanotechnology motivated the study of nanomaterials. Nanocrystalline zirconium dioxide or zirconia (ZrO2) doped with Eu3 is one such material which aroused great interest due to its various applications. It is used as an ideal medium for preparation of highly luminescent materials. White light emitting phosphors (WLEPs) are of great interest to luminescent studies and consequently present day luminescent studies mainly focused on synthesis and characterization of WLEPs for application in lighting devices such as in white LEDs
