Study of the n,p (2γ) radiative capture

Description
A tentative explanation for the differences between the experimental and theoretical values of the n,p capture cross section is presented involving the possibility of an anomalous transition 3S1-3S1 leading to two photons whose energy sum is that of the 2.2 MeV excited level in deuterium. A crest centered on the kinematic contour at 2.2 MeV was effectively observed. A comparison with the spectrum obtained for a D2O target shows that these events are due to hydrogen

On a cherche a expliquer la difference entre la section efficace de capture n,p theorique et experimentale par la possibilite d'une transition anormale 3S1-3S1 conduisant a deux photons dont la somme des energies est celle du niveau excite du deuterium soit 2,2 MeV. Une crete centree sur la ligne cinematique 2,2 MeV a bien ete observee. Une comparaison avec le spectre obtenu pour une cible de D2O montre que ces evenements sont dus a l'hydrogeneFiles
