Quantum nonlocality and interference in frequency domain
Description
An experiment was designed to demonstrate that if the filter for spectral selection is placed in the path of one photon of the entangled pair produced by spontaneous down-conversion and the photon is detected behind it, then interference appears in the (distant) Mach-Zehnder interferometer in the path of the other photon even if the optical path difference of the interferometer exceeds substantially the coherence length of the light and the spectra of the two photons do not overlap. A theoretical analysis is presented and its physical interpretation is discussed. 12 refs
