Radiological diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis
Description
The author refers to his extensive contributions in text books and encyclopedias. He points out, that the X-ray diagnosis of tuberculosis is extremely variable regarding the underlying pathological changes. 'Factors of terrain', multimorbidity and changes under therapy contribute to the difficulties of the problem. No attempts should be made to judge activity or quality of tuberculous lesions. The X-ray problems of metaphthisic changes are mentioned, for example aspergillotic lung disease. The value of computerized axial tomography is stressed. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Auf die einschlaegigen Darstellungen des Verfassers in Lehrbuehcern und Handbuchbeitraegen wird verwiesen. Darueber hinaus wird hier noch einmal gezeigt, dass die Roentgenmorphologie der Tuberkulose per se ungemein vielfaeltig ist, schon vom pathologisch-anatomischen Substrat her. Terrainfaktoren, Multimorbiditaet, Ausheilungsfaktoren stellen zusaetzliche Klippen dar. Versuche einer Aktivitaetsdiagnose und Qualitaetsdiagnose muessen notwendigerweise scheitern. Die Verlaeufe koennen ebenso verschieden sein wie das pathologisch-anatomische Substrat. Metaphtisische Veraenderungen koennen, so etwa beim Aspergillom oder der Aspergillenpneumonie oder mit obstruktiven Lungenerkrankungen, das klinische Bild nach konsolidierter Tuberkulose beherrschen.
