Description
The possibility of the manufacture of WSe2 by a self-propagating high-temperature synthesis, and the process particularities of the synthesis and the results of the study of the synthesis product properties are discussed. The analysis of the effect of process factors upon the composition of the final product makes possible to establish the following optimum synthesis conditions on an installation of 1 kg/h capacity: size of Se particles, not larger than 250 microns: composition of the starting charge, excess of Se from 4 to 6% against the stoichiometric amount; pressure of an inert gas in the reactor, not less than 80 atm
