Description

The potential possibilities of the X-ray spectral method of analysis and the efforts of a large number of researchers have ensured its wide application in the study of objects made of Au, Ag, Pt, and other noble metals. Recently, the problems of studying gold and silver objects of artistic value have attracted great interest. The report presents an overview of the work on the use of X-ray fluorescence determination of the chemical composition and thickness of coatings on surfaces of artifacts using the ratio of the intensities of α- and β-lines.
