Carbonization Behaviour of Activated Brown Coal

Description
In the previous paper it was experimental shown that the structure and properties of cod organic mass (COM) may be effectively altered by the action of alkali and acid solutions on coals. The combination of the methods of chemical and thermal treatment permits directed modification of coal structure, the yield and composition of the products of treatment. Adding the acids and alkalis to coal yields a change in the nature of its paramagnetic centres as a result of disturbed acid-base equilibrium in the system, a change in the nature of intermolecular interactions and hydrolytic splitting of ether groups. To obtain additional evidence on the chemistry of the action of alkalis and acids, their influence on the brown cod thermodestruction was studied in detail.
