Calibration and the radiocarbon chronology of late Minoan IB

Description
New radio carbon dates from the Late Minoan I period in the Aegean are examined. While some sites have yielded dates that are consistent with the historical chronology derived from contacts with the Near East, other dates are earlier than expected after calibration. The situation is not yet fully explained, but the problem does not seem to lie with the calibration principle itself. (author)
