HUMICS Project. Overview
Description
This report presents an overview of the work carried out by RMC Environmental (RMC-E) and the British Geological Survey (BGS) as part of the HUMICS project: Effects of Humic Substances on the Migration of Radionuclides: Complexation and Transport of the Actinides. The HUMICS project was a Fourth Framework project jointly funded by the European Commission (EC) and, in the UK, the Environment Agency (EA). Full details of the UK contribution to the research programme are presented Environment Agency R and D Technical Report P3-029/TR2. The full HUMICS Project is described in the European Commission final report (EUR 19610). The objective of this project was to provide data, process understanding, models and codes for scientifically well-founded and thus trustworthy predictive modelling of the influence of humic substances on the migration of radionuclides.
