Non-stoichiometric titanates of lanthanides in films

Description

Temperature-concentration ranges of formation of nonstoichiometric lanthanide titanates were ascertained as a result of X-ray diffraction and electron-diffraction studies of the films of the oxide systems TiO2-Ln2O3 (Ln=Ce-Lu), prepared by pulsed laser evaporation at the temperatures of precipitation up to 1500 deg C. Their formation proceeds most intensively in the films of the systems containing light lanthanide oxides and it is related to the dissociation and partial transition of titanium to oxidation state +3 in the film that has already formed
