Problems of population radiation safety during operation of NPP with fast neutron liquid metal cooled reactors

The problems of radiation safety of human population living near pilot industrial NPP with the BN-350 reactor in Shevchenko are considered. It has been found that in case of NPP normal operation there are practically no doses to the population living in the region of its location. The results of calculations of the dose external and internal irradiation of human organs and tissues caused by γ-radiation of the discharge plume, radioactive fallouts as well as radionuclide inhalation show that at maximum design accidents in no point of the NPP vicinity the dose does not exceed permissible maximum of accidental dose
