Topical problems of nuclear legislation in the United States

The debates between the opponents and proponents of nuclear power in the United States extend right into the sector of federal legislation, as is shown by the large number of important draft bills now before Congress. Items of topical importance are, above all, the amendment to the Price-Anderson Act, the financing of opponents in the licensing procedure, the demands for temporary halts of nuclear power plant construction, and improvements in the licensing procedure.
