Use of warm ejectors in helium refrigerators

Creators

  • 1. Sulzer Bros. Ltd., Winterthur (Switzerland)

Description

The successful use of ejectors in helium refrigerators and liquefiers instead of the Joule-Thomson valve, either to reach low temperatures or to increase the main compressor suction pressure, is discussed. The application of the warm ejector as against the more usual 'cold' ejector, and which gets its driving stream directly from the cycle compressor, is considered. A number of applications of this type of ejector are described. (UK)
