The use of carbon-fibre reinforced with epoxy resin for the construction of ionisation chambers
Description
The development of a thin shell to act as the outer wall of a protection-level ionisation chamber is described. The optimisation of the energy-dependence of response of the chamber is outlined and the results are presented of tests to determine the long-term volume stability of the shell and the effects of temperature cycling and x and γ-irradiation.
