The arrangement of RSG-GAS equilibrium silicide 300 G core by 250 G and 300 G mixed core

  • 1. Center for Development of Research Reactor, National Atomic Energy Agency, Serpong (Indonesia)

Description

Concerning to employ the silicide 250 g in the RSG-GAS and then followed by employing the silicide 300 g, the study to achieve a 300 g silicide equilibrium core, by using 250 g and 300 g silicide mixed cores, had been carried out. In this study the fuels burn-up are divided into 8 classes using 5/1 fuels change pattern. The calculation was done using the 2-dimensional core management code, Batan-EQUIL-2D. The results showed that the 250 g silicide full core should be operated for 625 MWD before converted to 300 g silicide core. The whole parameters for the 250 g and 300 g silicide mixed core during transition core, are in safety criteria. The typical 300 g silicide core would be achieved at the 5th full core. The calculation results showed that the proposed mixed cores could arrange a RSG-GAS 300 g silicide equilibrium core safely
