Dynamics of the subauroral ionosphere under disturbed conditions

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Zemnogo Magnetizma, Ionosfery i Rasprostraneniya Radiovoln

Description

A simple model for variation of electric field and electron concentration at subauroral latitudes is given. It is shown that accountancy for longitudinal current permits to explain formaion of step-like ionosphere structure in early hours, large electric fields and deep trough in electron concentration in late hours as well as time delay of electric field growth relatively to the beginning of the substorm
