Measurement of the W mass in the D0 detector

  • 1. New York Univ., NY (United States). Dept. of Physics

Description

We report the results of a preliminary analysis of the W → eν decays observed in 14 pb-1 of data taken during the Fermilab Tevatron Run l(a). After normalizing the mass scale to the Z mass measured at LEP, we find a value for the W mass of 79.86 ± 0.16(stat) ± 0.20(syst) ± 0.31(scale) GeV. The method for extracting the W mass and the details of the error analysis are presented and discusses
