Kaskad - the system of assessment, modeling and prediction of radioactivity in reservoirs of the Dnieper river basin
Description
The Kaskad infromation-modelling system is described which permits to solve the following problems: to obtain generalized assessments of operational radiological state of the Dnieper water reservoir cascade and tributaries; to develop rapid and long-term prediction of the development of radiological situation in water reservoirs of the region; to assess the efficiency of measures directed on choice of optimum strategies of water resource quality control; to prepare recommendations on the choice of optimum sites (as regard to the effect on water resource quality) for new process systems affecting the environment. Short-term prediction of autumn and spring floods for 1986-1988 were presented as well as long-term prediction (up to 1993) of the Dnieper water reservoir cascade contamination
