XANES theoretical study of the 2σ shell of CO

Description

The photoabsorption cross sections of transitions to excited and ionization states, which determine the fine structure of the spectrum in the ∼20-eV region from the threshold of 2σ ionization, are computed. An interpretation of the basic characteristics of the experimental spectrum in the literature is given on the basis of the computation. 11 refs., 1 fig., 1 tab
