Specific features of dynamics of shock waves formed in rarefied gas under laser-radiation heating
- 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Fizicheskij Inst.
Description
Results of experiments on generation of powerful shock wave in atmosphere of diagnostic gas, surrounding the target under laser radiation heating are presented. Experiments were conducted at powerful laser 'Delphin 1' unit. Laser energy changed within the limits of 100j-1kj at 3ns pulse duration. Flux density on the target varied from 2 X 1013 W/cm2 up to 1014 W/cm2. Glass microvessels 2R=400-600μm in diameter with aspect ratio R/ΔR = 100-200(ΔR - thickness of target shell) were used as targets. Deuterium and helium were investigated at 10-20 Torr. Sufficient deviation of shock wave behaviour from self-similar solution for prompt point explosion was observed
