Tc-99m-pertechnetate scintigraphy in salivary gland chronic inflammations

Description
The diagnostic value of Tc-99m-pertechnetate scintigraphic method in salivary gland diseases is determined. 55 patients with chronic inflammation of salivary glands are treated with 2.5% solution of potassium iodide. The coefficients of sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of the method are calculated. The cumulation of KJ in the salivary glands, which makes their scintiscanning visualization difficult, is proved. 2 figs., 3 tabs., 6 refs. (orig.)
