Description

CBCT equipment were born in the first half of the years 80 in the context of angiography. The first applications that benefited from this method are the Interventional Radiology, surgery and radiation oncology. This method has made possible the knowledge accurately therapeutic. And it is the mean by which they are brought into context, otherwise unthinkable, all the advantages of tomographic reconstruction: the lack of overlap, the three-dimensional reconstructions, and the possibility of measurement without distortion. Everything happened and not compete with diagnostic performances and computed tomography. This scenario changed with the development of applications in the district odontomaxillofaccial: the examination with CBCT in many many cases is a valid alternative to the test TC.
