Radioactive tracer studies in bubble column for dimethyl ether (DME) synthesis

Description

Radioactive tracer measurements, using injections of 41Ar, powdered oxide of 56Mn and real catalyst particles doped with an oxide of 56Mn, conducted at the Advance Development Unit (AFDU) slurry bubble column reactor during dimethyl ether (DME) synthesis at LaPorte, Texax, are interpreted successfully using the gas-liquid recirculation model. The model is able to predict the characteristic features of the experimental responses observed for gas, slurry powder and catalyst tracers at different reactor elevations. (author)
