On the nature of the radiative centres of the halogen impurity

Description
Optical absorption spectra and the thermal conductivity were investigated for KCl and KCl: 0.5 mol% LiF crystals irradiated in the reactor. KCl crystals doped with LiF are imperfect and thus their thermal conductivity is lower than that of undoped crystals. Generation of F and Q centers in such a crystal decreases the thermal conductivity especially considerably in the temperature range 3 to 10 K
