Synthesis and characterization of SrCeO3 by alternate routes

  • 1. Applied Chemistry Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)

Description

SrCeO3 an important proton conductor, has been prepared by three different routes. The usual solid state synthesis involves heating a mixture of SrCO3 and CeO2 to very high temperatures like 1400 deg C and requires repeated grinding and re-heating. Attempts have been made in this study to prepare SrCeO3 by sol-gel and co-precipitated nitrate methods. The resulting products have been characterized by thermogravimetry and XRD analysis. (author)
