Balloon catheters

Description

Balloon catheters with latex balloons were inflated in plastic tubes of different diameters. The volume at rupture of the balloons was measured. The pressure inside the balloon and that caused by the balloon against the tube walls were recorded. Measures to avoid high pressure on the vessel wall, and balloon rupture, are discussed. (Auth.)
