Preparation of international standards on reference radiation used in radiation protection

The ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is preparing a series of standards for the production of reference radiations and their use for calibrating radiation protection equipment and studying the response of the equipment as a function of energy. The standards are being drawn up by Working Group No 2 (responsible for studying reference radiations) of Sub-Committee 2 (responsible for studying radiation protection) of Technical Committee 85 (which covers all standards relating to nuclear energy). The reference for the working Group is ISO/TC 85/SC2/WG2. The purpose of all the standards drawn up by WG2 is to enable the results of tests on radiation protection equipment carried out by the various assessment laboratories throughout the world to be compared
