Use of electric field to increase nuclear emulsion sensitivity
Description
The possibility of increasing the sensitivity of type-R nuclear emulsion by means of an electric field of 4X106 V/cm is investigated. In model experiments, an emulsion (10 micrometers thick on a Dacron base 50 micrometers thick) is irradiated by a pulsed light source with an illumination duration of 10-6 sec. Application of 103 electric pulses to the emulsion does not change fogging. The memory time of the nuclear emulsion was determined by increasing the delay of the electric field relative to the light flash
