Measurements of cross sections for the formation of 7Li2+ by collisions between 7Li+ ions

Description
Cross sections for the formation of 7Li2+ by collisions between 7Li+ ions have been measured for interaction energies between 19.3 and 87.6 keV. In this energy range the cross section rises monotonically from 1.48 x 10-18 cm2. In efforts to compare these results with analogous measurements for helium, four scaling laws were investigated. None was entirely successful although simple classical scaling gave the best fit between measurements for He and Li+. (author)
