An optical polarization study of NGC 2068

  • 1. Durham Univ. (UK). Dept. of Physics

Description

An optical linear polarization map of the reflection nebula NGC 2068 (Messier 78) is presented. A geometry is proposed to explain the pattern of polarization in terms of a single state (HD 38563N) illuminating a foreground slab of dust of varying density. (author)
