System to make use of atomic waste
Description
The spent nuclear fuel is formed into plate-shaped blocks. A Si photocell is placed on one or both sides inbetween an α and n absorbing foil of Ca tungstate. The γ and β radiation create a potential difference in one or both photocells. The whole system is surrounded by a radiation protecting jacket. (RW)

Der ausgebrannte Kernbrennstoff wird in plattenfoermige Bloecke geformt. Auf einer oder beiden Seiten wird unter Zwischenlage jeweils einer α und n absorbierenden Folie aus Ca-Wolframat eine Si-Photozelle angeordnet. Die γ-und β-Strahlung erzeugt eine Spannung in der oder beiden Photozellen. Die ganze Anordnung ist von einem Strahlenschutzmantel umgeben. (RW)Files
