Summary of Working Group 2

Description

Issues on the physics of, beamlines for, and detectors of neutrino oscillation discussed in Working Group 2 at Nufact'02 are summarized. From this workshop, it is clear that conventional neutrino beams will occupy the foreground of oscillation measurements until perhaps 2010. Then, a crucial decision will have to be made in choosing between hyper conventional experiments on one hand combining multi MegaWatt proton beams combined with MegaTon detectors, and neutrino factories on the other hand whose design should be mature by that time
