Application of isotopic and nuclear techniques in the study of nutrition-pollution interactions and their impact on the nutritional status of Korean pediatric populations

Creators

  • 1. Department of Environmental Engineering, College of Health Science, Yonsei University (Korea, Republic of)

Description

Isotopic and nuclear techniques such as Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), Neutron Activation Analysis (NAA) and Biomedical Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (BAMS) will be used to understand and to evaluate how environmental pollution affects the nutritional status of pediatric populations already exposed to marginal malnutrition. Results of this study will contribute to better knowledge of the deleterious effects of nutrition-pollution interactions and to develop remedial strategies to alleviate such ill effects. (author)
