Investigation of the internal spin structure of the neutron by deep inelastic scattering of longitudinally polarized electrons from a polarized 3He target

Description
It is possible to investigate the quark spin structure of the neutron using a polarized 3He target. This should be possible using existing technology if the depolarization rate of the target is not too large. A running time of the order of 5-10 days is estimated as necessary to differentiate between different models of the nucleon
