An integrated approach for atomic mineral exploration: some case studies
Description
Geological geochemical, and geophysical information from satellite, air photos, aeroradiometric, and magnetic data has been integrated to understand the controls of uranium mineralisation as well as narrow down targets for detailed ground follow up in the Proterozoic meta sedimentary rocks in parts of Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, and also to locate other atomic minerals in pegmatite, granite, and carbonatite-alkaline complexes of different geological settings. The study indicates the efficacy of the technique in refining and retrieving thematic litho-structural details, establishing chronological sequences of geological and tectonic episodes, their relationship to mineralisation and delineating potential zones for atomic minerals.
