Description
The plasma focus devices are widely being used as compact fusion reactors for experimental simulation of combined effects of deuterium ions, neutrons and electromagnetic radiations on different materials in laboratories. An in-house developed 11.5 kJ plasma focus device is operated here for multifold irradiation of titanium material. This material or its alloy is considered suitable for application in many of the components of future fusion reactors like ITER. The irradiated sample is characterized by using SEM, XRD, EDX and Vickers hardness gauge. The results are presented. (author)
