Reliability studies of RAPS-1 and 2 safety systems

  • 1. Rajasthan Atomic Power Station-1 and 2, Rawatbhata (India)

Description

This paper covers the Reliability assessment methodology for various safety systems of RAPS-l and 2. The detailed Reliability assessment is done as part of' Application for Renewal of Authorization (ARA) and Periodic safety Review (PSR). The Fault Tree (FT) analysis method is used for this evaluation. Both plant-specific and generic data are used for reliability calculations. The quantitative evaluation of Fault trees is done by the computer program 'Risk spectrum'. The calculated values of Safety system Reliabilities indicate their good operational health and adequacy of maintenance program and surveillance requirements. (author)
