Nature of the two modes in the type II bursts of MXB 1730-335

  • 1. Institute for Space Research, USSR Academy of Sciences, Moscow

Description

A Monte Carlo simulation is performed to show that the existence of two modes of type II bursts in the Rapid Burster MXB 1730-335 can be attributed in a natural way to accretion onto either or both magnetic poles of a neutron star rotating with a period of about 250 sec
