A 19-state R-matrix calculation of the electron-photon coincidence parameters λ and |χ| for the electron excitation of 11s → 33,1p in helium at 29.6 eV

Description

The R-matrix method has been employed to study the electron excitation of atomic helium. Nineteen states (n=1,2,3 and 4) have been included in the expansion of the total wave function. The results of this calculation are used to obtain the electron-photon coincidence parameters λ and |χ| for the excitation of 11s → 33,1p at 29.6 eV. The calculated parameters λ and |χ| are compared with the only available experiments (Donnelly et al. 1988, Neil and Crowe 1988). (author). 14 refs, 2 figs
