The first ever dismantling of a nuclear power station. Seven years of precise work to prepare the removal of a power station

Description
For the first time in history a complete nuclear power station located in Bavaria has been dismantled, radioactive components and all. According to information from the Bavarian Environmental Ministry there is no radioactive material left on the site of the dismantled nuclear power station in Niederaichbach. All the buildings and the area surrounding them were released for other use. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
In Bayern ist zum erstenmal auf der Welt die vollstaendige Demontage eines Atomkraftwerks samt allen radioaktiven Komponenten gelungen. Gemaess Angaben des bayerischen Umweltministeriums befinden sich auf dem Gelaende des abgebrochenen Kernkraftwerks Niederaichbach heute keine radioaktiven Stoffe mehr. Saemtliche Gebaeude sowie das Umgelaende konnten vorschriftsgemaess fuer eine andere Nutzunge freigegeben werden. (orig.)Additional details
