Description

The burnup calculation is one of the main functions of the assembly homogenization parameter calculation program, which directly affects the core physics calculation accuracy. The burnup calculation method for assembly calculation was researched in this paper. A theoretic depletion model was established. An effective numerical method for solving the stiff equation was given and successfully employed in the lattice code LATC of COSINE package. The numerical tests show that the burnup calculation module in LATC code can give reasonable and reliable results in large burnup steps and deep depletion situation. (authors)
