Modeling of energy retrofit actions' CO₂ price in residential metropolitan French buildings

This study focused on the Certificates of Energy Savings (CEEs, Certificats d'Economie d'Energie) which have been introduced in France in 2005, and impose mandatory energy savings to energy providers. The objective is here to assess the cost of CO₂ emission reduction in the main energy retrofit actions related to CEEs and performed in residential buildings. Average avoided emissions related to each retrofit action are first estimated. The author proposes a simulation of the source of CO₂ savings by 2050 at the national level with respect to various hypotheses obtained from surveys performed by EDF on savings achieved during energy efficiency regional programmes.
