Cumulative beam breakup in rf linacs
Description
The phenomenon of cumulative beam breakup in RF linacs, due to the interaction of the beam with a deflecting mode of the accelerating structure, is analysed. Analysis of beam cavity interaction; beam-breakup difference equations; coasting beam; integral representation; steady-state solution; single pulse; and accelerating and decelerating beams; are all examined.
