Description

Collisional single electron detachment (SED) and double electron detachment (DED) absolute cross sections of H and D with sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) and carbon tetrafluoride (CF4) were measured by using the growth rate method. The energy used in the experiment ranged from 10 to 30 keV. By combining with the available data in references, it was found that SED absolute cross sections reach saturation in the experimental velocity range, while DED absolute cross sections continue to increase as the velocity increases. The SED absolute cross sections of CH4, SF6, and CF4 were proportional to their bond lengths and the radius of the incident anionic projectile within the error range in the present velocity region.
