This brief review focuses mainly on radiation treatment of the non-small cell cancer: squamous cell, large cell and adenocarcinomas. The following topics are discussed in outline: optimal dose, fractionation regimes, hyperbaric oxygen, nitroimidazoles as sensitizers, hyperthermia, high linear energy transfer radiation, chemotherapy courses alternating with radiotherapy, half-body irradiation, and prophylactic brain irradiation for metastases.
