ICR study of the negative ions of sulfuryl fluoride

Description
An ion cyclotron resonance study of the negative ions obtained from low energy (4 eV) electron impact on SO2F2 reveal that F2-. reacts with SO2F2 to yield So2F3- and F. A new method devised to measure ion residence times in an ICR drift cell is used to determine the rate constant for the formation of SO2F3- as (4,0 +- 0,9( x 10-10 cm3 molecule -1s-1 at 296 K. The fluoride affinity of sulfuryl fluoride has been bracketed between 36 and 46 kcal mole-1

Observa-se num estudo por ressonancia ciclotronica de ions negativos de SO2F2, que F2-. reage em fase gasosa atraves de uma reacao ion-molecula com SO2F2 para produzir SO2F3- e F. Apresenta-se uma nova metodologia para medir tempos de residencia de ions numa cela convencional de ressonancia ciclotronica. Este metodo e usado para determinar a constante de velocidade de formacao de SO2F3- a 296K. (4,9+- 0,9) x 10-10 cm3 molecule -1s-1.
