Description

Large sample neutron activation analysis (LSNAA) was carried out using thermal column (TC) facility of Apsara reactor at a neutron flux of ∼ 108 cm-2 s-1. Samples of both large (10-250 g) and small (50-1000 mg) sizes of soil, clay and uranium ore were analysed by k0-based internal mono standard neutron activation analysis (IM-NAA) method. In-situ relative detection efficiency used in IM-NAA makes the method geometry independent. Results of analysis of the above samples as well as advantages of LSNAA using thermal column are discussed in this paper. (author)
