Investigation of the Mo-Ni-P system

Description
Methods of X-ray diffraction analysis were used to determine phase equilibria in the Mo-Ni-P system at 850 deg C. Ni2P phosphide dissolves up to 0.50 mol ''Mo2P''. Existence of compounds of MoNiP2 (a proper type of structure), Mo2Ni6P3 (a proper type of structure, a=1. 294 (2), b=0.3568 (5), c=0.5911 (5) nm), Mo2Ni3P (MgZn2 structure type, a=0.4688(2), c=0.7601 (4), MoNi2P and Mo2NiP has been confirmed and MoNi2P compound is established to be close to Mo3Ni7P3 in composition. For the first time the existence of Mo3Ni3P2 new ternary phosphide is discovered (structure is unknown)
