Complexing of palladium and uranium with xylenol orange
Description
Polladium (2) and uranium (6) complexing with xylend orange is studied. Disregarding of metal or reagent excess uranium forms one complex with the ratio of components 1:1 with lambdasub(max) =475nm, epsilon=(2.90+-0.05)x104 and β=(1.79+-0.22)x1017. Acetates prevent complexing of both metals with xylend orange that is why buffer urotropin solutions should be used for medium formation. EDTA, citrates, tartrates and fluorides destroy the uranium complex. Beer's law meets conditions at csub(R) equal to 6x10sup(-5)-3x10sup(-5) mole/l of uranium if optical density is measured at 520-540 nm (palladium) and 510 nm (uranium)
